Working from home isn’t always easy and that’s OK!

This week’s blog is written by Jemima Onih.

This pandemic has changed the way we work, the way we study and the way we live in many different ways. With a lot of us working from home, there is the tendency to feel trapped and separated from the outside world. For some, working from home in a hectic household has us battling productivity amongst the busyness of family members and slow Wi-Fi. While others of us, may have own space yet struggle with feelings of loneliness, inability to concentrate and missing our family and friends.  For some children, you may not have access to a personal laptop or computer which makes home learning even harder. Or the lack of a quiet study space is proving to be your biggest challenge.

Now you may resonate with all of these experiences or just an aspect of them. You may be experiencing feeling of anxiousness in the midst of the uncertainty and wonder how much longer life will be like this. It may be that you have become increasingly frustrated with yourself and your productivity. But remember, some days may be easier than others, your week may start off productive and end a bit slower and that is okay. Here at Headspace Guildford, we want you to know that we hear you and we see you. You are not alone, and your feelings are valid. Sometimes, we can feel isolated in our experiences and our struggles and wonder if anyone sees us.

We believe it is important to take each day as it comes and be patient with yourself. Remember in the midst of it all you are doing great.
