Anxiety groups at Headspace Guildford

I read somewhere that we’ll remember this year for the rest of our lives. It’s been a rollercoaster of a time since Covid really started making an impact on our lives and it will be sometime yet to come before we can make sense of all this.

But in the midst of this, life is starting to open up, including the children returning to school. Many young people we’ve talked to have told us how anxious they are about returning, even if they’d been back a little bit before the summer break.

We are running a group for any young people who are feeling anxious, about returning to school or about life in general at the moment. The groups will run on Wednesday 26th August (face to face) and Friday 28th August (virtually). There will be groups for children (aged 8-11) which will include some time with parents and for young people (12-15). The groups will include a mixture of psychoeducation (understanding anxiety and how it affects me) and fun activities which develop strategies to manage anxiety.

We realise that things are a bit squeezed for many people at the moment so are running these as not-for-profit events and the cost covers venue hire, resources, and the assistant Psychologists’ time. Do contact us if you want more information.

Please do forward these details to anyone who might find the group helpful. We’d love to see you there.
